Junior, Kiley Banker, verbally committed to play volleyball at the University of Virginia.
After offers from many division one programs, Banker’s campus visit to the University of Virginia solidified her decision to become a Cavalier.
“After being on campus and getting to know the coaches and players I fell in love with everything about it,” said Banker.
Banker began the recruiting process as a freshman.
She received a few looks for smaller schools her first year, but her sophomore year bigger schools became interested.
College athletics is nothing new for the Banker family.
Kiley’s sister, Alexa, plays volleyball at University of San Diego, while her brother Blair played basketball there for two years and then transferred to Point Loma.
“It is a new journey for me. The first time I went on my visit was the first time I had even been to the state of Virginia,” said Banker.
Banker will join four seniors who are committed to joining differing colleges for athletics.
“I’m looking forward to meeting new people. It will be a new journey and I cannot wait to see where it takes me,” said Banker.
