The girl’s golf team have been practicing their perfect swings and flawless putts since the first week of August.
With their current 3-0 record, practice seems to be paying off.
This has been done by not only the effort of the veteran golfers, but also the newcomers.
Senior Anna Barker says that the new faces are a great addition to the team.
“They are nice and are eager to learn the rules of golf,” said Barker.
Practices are less of conditioning, more of repetition, whether it be hitting range balls, chipping, putting, or playing a few holes.
Senior Allyson Carpenter and Barker have been playing golf for four years and want to continue playing after they graduate.
“We will definitely play recreational golf in college, but not as a sport,” said Carpenter.
Team bonding is never out of the question for this hard-working team.
“In the past we have gone out to dinner and this year we are having sleepovers,” said Barker.
This girls pulled together this past weekend as they played in the Hall of Fame Tournament in Batesville, Indiana.
“It was a really hard course, but we did our best,” said Barker. “We have never sweated so much in our lives.”
The girl’s golf team will continue their excellence throughout the rest of their season.
