From 2011-2013, the Harrison football team didn’t win a single game. However, the team’s fortunes appear to be improving as they went 7-3 during the 2014 regular season and advanced to the sectional championship.
After the 2013 season, HHS joined the NCC. The conference change may have had something to do with the team’s drastic improvement.
Nonetheless, Harrison will look to build on a strong 2014 season with help from 12 returning starters, five of which are on offense.
The team should also receive major contributions from preseason all-state defenders, Dakota Manion and Colin Zeh.
Although the Raider offense lost running backs Cameron Greene and Daniel Wright to graduation, they have two emerging stars in Dawson Dahnke and Jonathan Laguire. The duo will split carries in the backfield this season.
Additionally, five first-year varsity players will provide depth and potential playmaking on both offense and defense. The Raiders began the 2015 campaign with a tough matchup against Westfield, falling 38-21 in a rematch of last season’s sectional championship. The Raiders’ next contest is at home against Western Boone on Friday.
