There have been two new additions to the Harrison High School Cheerleading team, and they aren’t girls.
Senior Brendan White and Sophomore Tyler Raisor have recently joined the cheer team at Harrison High School.
The newbies will bring more strength and diversity to the team.
White has had some previous experience with cheering.
“I actually have had some recent experience stunting, and I turned out to be pretty good at it so I asked the coach if it would be okay if I joined the team,” said White.
Most high schools don’t have many, if any, men on their cheer team. Why Harrison?
“The team needed more people for a competition. They needed some guys who had time and were able to learn the many techniques with back spotting,” said Raisor.
The addition is untraditional, but certainly welcome.
You can find the guys cheering, flipping, and tumbling alongside the girls at every Raider basketball game.
