Junior Mallery Williams is the new High School twirler.
Williams replaced Erin Groll, who is now a line twirler for Purdue.
Inspired by Purdue’s golden girl at Purdue Perform, Williams has been twirling for two and a half years.
Williams has never performed at events outside of school, but plans to compete in competitions this fall.
Alexa Phillips, the golden girl at Purdue, has been Williams’ private coach for a year now.
Every week Williams spends around five hours practicing her routine.
The routine Williams performs is created by her coach, Philips, and includes her own input.
“I love to perform at the football games with the marching band,” said Williams.
Williams will twirl before the game to “Yankee Doodle” and the Harrison High School fight song.
At half time Williams will perform her routine to two Bruno Mars songs, “Treasure” and “Runaway Baby”.
