Senior Salute: Arantxa Recarte

Sam Arvin

As a way to honor the seniors of Harrison, the Harrison Pulse is doing a segment where we share a Q&A with 15 Raiders from the class of 2016. Each day we will be releasing another part of this series. Today's senior is Arantxa Recarte:

What was your favorite class at Harrison?

Who influenced you the most throughout these four years?

-I'd say taking Mrs. Greeley's APUSH and AP Gov. courses have influenced me a lot because those classes are where I discovered and explored my interest in Politics, Law, and History.

Who was your middle school crush?

-The Jonas Brothers probably

If you could change anything about the last four years what would it be?

-I honestly can't think of anything. I've pretty much done everything I wanted to do.

What would you tell your freshman self now?

-Stop caring about what other people think of you, because pretty soon you'll be moving on to bigger and better things and none of that will matter.

What is the worst fashion trend you participated in?

-Scrunchies and skorts

What is your favorite food that is served at lunch?

-Biscuits and Gravy i guess

What is your favorite memory from Harrison?

-The band trip to England

Who is your favorite teacher and why?

-Mrs. Laguire because not only is she a teacher, she is a friend. She is there if you need anything and she treats everyone like an intelligent, unique individual.

What was your most challenging class/who was your most challenging teacher at Harrison, and how have they shaped your experience here at Harrison?

-My most challenging class was Honors Pre-calculus with Mr. Klumpe. It was a very challenging class that really forced me to get organized with my study habits and forced me to learn to ask for help, something I never really liked doing, but one thing I appreciate about Mr. Klumpe is that he never made me feel stupid for asking a question.

What are your plans after high school?

I am going to attend Indiana University and study foreign language, international studies, and political science
